You’ll be surprised to see the mysterious sand dunes of Gurun Pasir Busung in Bintan. Originally a mining site, Gurun Pasir Busung was abandoned and now it resembles a majestic landscape of the Arabian desert. Right alongside the white sand is a surreal crystal-clear blue lake. It's hard to imagine that this crystal blue lake was once just a large crater in an abandoned mining site. Now there is no need to go all the way to Thailand to see the Golden Sleeping Buddha statue because in Bintan, to be precise, at Vihara Dharma Shanti – Tanjung Uban, North Bintan. Originally this statue was named "Reclining Meditation Buddha Statue" but is more famous everywhere as "Sleeping Buddha Statue".
